Dedicated to the wilding of the UK's farmland Matara's Parklands are a wealth of habitats for native species of the area. Over half of the 28 acres at Matara are being encouraged to naturalize, returning red kites, badgers, foxes and all sorts to the area.
25 Years ago we set out with the intention to create a sustainable, life affirming, ecological haven here at Matara. As caretakers of the land we have returned the grazing fields to a parkland of natural habitats which protect and encourage diverse wildlife. These include woodlands, wetlands, flower meadows and hedgerows with over 1,500 trees and 2 kilometres of hedge row planted during the last quarter of a century.
