Welcome to Matara

The Matara Centre is a unique Cotswold wedding and events venue in Gloucestershire.

A quarter of a century ago a man had an idea. Intrigued by the philosophies and principles he encountered on his travels he wanted to create a beautiful place that invited people in, created a sense of calm and gave time to reflect. The result? The Matara Centre, a celebration of the worlds multi cultures filled with intrigues around each corner.

Here at Matara we continually develop a unique, relaxed and joyous venue that allows you to celebrate all of life's moments your way.

Weddings & Celebrations

The Matara Centre is steeped in the tradition of the unexpected in the Cotswolds. It is a truly unique Gloucestershire wedding & events venue set in 28 acres of strolling grounds, offering a relaxed and joyful setting for every occasion. Our Asian inspired, exclusive use venue is licenced to host indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies.  Complimented by the Grade II listed Regency home, Matara is intimate enough for 25 guests and grand enough to comfortably host up to 200 guests.

Gardens

As caretakers of the land we have allocated half of the 28 acres to natural habitat, protecting and encouraging diverse wildlife. Those 14 acres now have a life of their own, continually increasing in richness and natural diversity. You will find woodlands, wetlands, flower meadows and hedgerows. Come, enjoy the tranquility and beauty. Take time, relax and reconnect with the natural world.
